About Us

We’re a small family kennel in Langley, British Columbia, about 50 km east of Vancouver. GoldenAcres Retrievers is run by Steve and Val Pospolita, with the help of their daughter, Natalie. Our love for Golden Retrievers started more than 20 years ago, and we have been breeding for the past 14 years. We’re hobby breeders, which means we only have one or two litters of puppies each year.

Our dogs are part of the family. They curl up on the couch, compete for Dad’s side of the bed, and come along on camping trips. They love swimming in the family pool and spend their days with all the other animals on our 4-acre farm, including two llamas, four alpacas, chickens, turkeys, ducks, three very curious peacocks, and plenty of energetic grandkids.

Raising happy, healthy, well-socialized Goldens is what matters most to us. Every dog in our breeding program has the appropriate health clearances, and our puppies are raised right in our home, surrounded by the everyday sights and sounds of family life. To us, our Golden Retrievers are much more than pets. They’re family.

We’re always learning more about the breed and have spent years studying Golden Retriever pedigrees to make thoughtful breeding decisions. We’re proud members of both the Canadian Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of British Columbia. While many of our dogs compete successfully in the show ring, plenty of the puppies we’ve bred have gone on to earn titles in other areas too, showing just how versatile the breed can be.
